Note from Amy
The need that each of us innately has for peace and quiet cannot be overstated. It is where we reboot, reenergize, and get creative. It is where we have epiphanies and gain the necessary insights to improve our lives. It is where we can learn about our deepest desires and appreciate what is. So in the spirit of Peace & Quiet – I give you this weeks 5 for 5!
Quotes I am Pondering
You are in for a treat this week – I couldn’t hold back – there were so many quotes that moved me.
“We have forgotten what rocks and plants still know – we have forgotten how to be – to be still – to be ourselves – to be where life is here and now.” – Eckhart Tolle
“Imagine a temple inside your mind, a haven from the chaos of the world. Visit often.” – Marianne Williamson
“It is through stillness that we become inspired to move. – Yours Truly / Amy Applebaum
New Snack I’m Enjoying:
I’ve been exploring tea these days. I have always loved tea. I find it soothing, relaxing and intentional. When I drink tea, it reminds me to slow down, turn on some calming music and enjoy the moment. I find with the chaos of life that includes business, kids, being a committed, loving wife, making time for health that I need those reminders. From my meditation pillow and practice to yoga to tea drinking – they all remind me to make the moments of my day meaningful. The tea that I’ve been enjoying the most these days is an incredible green tea by Numi – Toasted Sesame Rice. It has that wonderful flavor you find when frequenting your favorite Chinese food restaurant. Nutty but not bitter. It’s smooth and really does the trick. Thank you, Numi!
Favorite Read of The Week:
“The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success” by Deepak Chopra. This book for me is not a book that you just sit down and read. It’s a tool that I use daily to achieve a more peaceful and meaningful life. I spent each day of the week focused on a particular law – applying and considering it. It really helps me be mindful. Here is the link if you’d like to give it a try.
Video That “MADE ME REALLY FREAKING HAPPY”
So what does this video have to do with peace and quiet? Great question. It was during a moment of peace and quiet that I took the time to watch this video. And it made me VERY HAPPY. So happy that I sent it around to my friends and we all tried it and exchanged stories. And sometimes you need peace and quiet to take the time to watch videos like this that make you happy and connect you to those you love. So ENJOY!! WATCH: VIDEO – dog owners try the snoot challenge
New Song I’m Loving:
I found this youtube video by Tim Janis. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Exactly what I needed during some quiet reflection time. If you focus on the music itself, it will take you to extraordinary places!

“DO IT” for The Week:
Time for some peace and quiet. Create it for yourself. Enroll your family in the conversation. Let them know what it does for you. Share with them that it helps you be a better parent, spouse, friend and business exec. Enroll them in giving you the space you need to “let go” and recharge. Ask them if they’d be willing to give that to you – you might be surprised at the responses you get. And who knows, maybe they will want some quiet time too:)
To Peace and Quiet!
Hugs
Amy
