Does passion alone determine your success? This week you are in for a treat as we meet two incredibly inspiring entrepreneurs who want to make a difference in the world. They each are passionate about their respective business ideas. They each want to contribute to a specific community – a community they are inspired by. But will passion be enough? What else do they need to ensure their success?
Tina is a disabled veteran and mom of two beautiful children. She wants to build a Community Center to help support special needs families. Her inspiration comes from her own, personal challenges having raised a child with autism. Challenges that she has faced as a mother and wife. Living day to day with a child struggling with autism, Tina knew exactly what challenges she was dealing with and what needs her child had. But knowing what her child needed wasn’t enough. Because getting those needs met wasn’t easy. Usually, she and her husband could not find the support that would make the difference to their child’s life. So, Tina took matters into her own hands. She decided she would provide what others have not been able to, instead of waiting for something that clearly wasn’t coming. So Tina definitely has the motivation for her business, without question. Tina has the drive and the plan to get up and running but has run into a challenge with the building design. But as we come to find out, the “building design” is not the real problem. There is a real, core underlying problem that serves as a saboteur to Tina’s business. We must figure this out quickly or her dream of supporting special needs children will remain just a dream.
Laura, our next guest, wants to create a nature retreat to offer a place where people can unplug from their daily lives and get back to their authentic selves – who they are in nature. Sounds nice doesn’t it? But there are lots of places that make it possible for you to “get in touch with your core passion and purpose. What makes Laura’s business idea and vision unique? Who will her business target? How will her brand stand out from the others? What will make Laura’s business different than all of the other retreat centers and weekends out there. So while Laura has a wonderful vision for the village, and has been dreaming about this for a long time, it may not be enough to launch her business? Does she have a working business plan so she can execute this vision? Does she understand what she will need to do day to day to run this business. Laura also thinks she needs financing… but does she really? Often times people think getting money from others is the answer. This may not be the case for Laura.
So join us and find out whether Tina and Laura’s business ideas are gonna fly! And learn what it takes to succeed and what to consider before bringing on financial partners.
