5 Steps to Improve Your Fat Loss and Health In 2011! Take practical steps to make this a better year for your fat loss and health. You must be intentional in order to make improvements to your body. It takes hard, smart work on your part—and perseverance.
Did your weight yo-yo last year? Did you place emphasis on weight loss instead of fat loss? Losing weight the healthy way is the way to go. That means changing your body to more muscle and less fat. This lengthy transformation will eventually give you the lean and toned body you want.
Losing large amounts of weight can be gained back quickly if you don’t build muscle mass. Build muscle, burn fat, speed up your metabolism and lose weight (and keep it off)!
Health is more important than weight loss. Don’t lose your health and self- respect
trying quick weight loss tactics that will ultimately cause you to fail again and again.
So, here are 5 practical tips to help you achieve your best health and body:
1. Make a commitment TODAY to start a lifestyle of health and fitness! Without this commitment, you will eventually go back to short-term solutions like fad diets!
2. Schedule an appointment with your personal trainer for a free fitness assessment. It will help you identify and visualize your fitness goals and determine why your fat loss and weight loss efforts have failed or succeeded in the past.
The assessment will also tell you your body composition (body fat % vs. lean mass %). You will learn “where you are fat” (body mass index will not give you this important information). For instance, too much belly fat can lead to serious health problems like cancer. You may need a doctor’s clearance before you can begin an exercise program.
3. Make the needed changes to your eating habits! Severely limit foods like sugars, processed foods, fast foods, fat-filled packaged foods, etc. Eat more foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean meats.
Get help with your meal plan if needed! Get your nutrition mainly from food! Add in supplements like multivitamins and fish oil to support your meal plan and improve your health.
4. Commit to regular strength and cardio training and an active lifestyle! Walk as much as you can everyday!
5. Get enough rest! If you don’t sleep enough, your body won’t function as well as it could–that means about 7-8 hours of sleep every night for most people. Its difficult to workout with low energy.
Its up to YOU to make the needed changes to start building the lean, healthy body you want and need!
